The Story
Launched in 1971 the Explorer 2 Recently celebrated 50 years in production. The anniversary was celebrated with a new release, reference 226570. The new reference included a new movement and marginal changes to casing and bracelet design.
Cast in 904l stainless steel, the watch measures 42mm diameter and 12mm thick. The watch is powered by the 3285 movement with 70 hour power reserve, a movement shared with the current GMT line up. In addition, very minor dial changes and a different finish on the hands round off the upgrades to the new model.
Our 2023 - 226570 'Polar' Explorer - is supplied brand new condition with no signs of wear. The watch is offered as a full set, complete with 2023 dated warranty card, booklets, both tags, and original Rolex box. It is further enhanced benefitting from Rolex's international warranty valid until 2028.
